VILNIUS TECH, in collaboration with its partners, launched the Digital Response to Unemployment Problems in the Western Balkans (DRUPWB) project

December 2023 – The European Union co-funded project “Digital Response to Unemployment Problems in the Western Balkans” (DRUPWB) has officially commenced. This initiative marks a significant advancement in Vocational Education and Training (VET) throughout the region. Over the course of two years, the project aims to address critical skills gaps and mismatches in the labor market, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by young people.

Project Overview

The DRUPWB project is designed to transform the vocational education landscape through capacity building and the development of innovative curricula based on STEM pedagogy. Its objectives are strategically aligned with the enhancement of the labor market relevance of skills and the integration of VET into local, regional, and national development strategies.

Distinguished Partnerships
The project features a consortium of six distinguished organizations, and VILNIUS TECH coordinates the project. Each of the project partners brings its own unique expertise:

Pannonia Consulting (Pannonia, HR)

Pannonia Consulting (Pannonia, HR): Specialized in business development and non-formal education, Pannonia will contribute its proficiency in project management and curriculum innovation.

Outside Media & Knowledge (Outside, DE)

Outside Media & Knowledge (Outside, DE): Recognized for inclusive marketing and training strategies, Outside will spearhead project dissemination and the engagement of marginalized groups.

Spin / Okret (BA)

Spin / Okret (BA): Dedicated to experiential learning and digital transformation within the youth work and VET sectors, Spin will offer valuable perspectives from its local and European projects.

Engineer Marko Radević Secondary School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy (SGGS, ME)

Engineer Marko Radević Secondary School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy (SGGS, ME): As Montenegro’s leading vocational school in construction and geodesy, SGGS will provide specialized expertise in these vital areas.

CRCA (AL)

CRCA (AL): With a rich 25-year history in youth empowerment, CRCA will contribute its innovative approaches to education and training, focusing on NEET citizens.

A Vision for the Future

The DRUPWB project aims to mitigate the challenges that impede young people's entry into the labor market, directly addressing the high youth unemployment rates in the Western Balkans. By fostering collaboration between private and public stakeholders and developing targeted VET interventions, DRUPWB strives to avert the emergence of a "lost generation" of young individuals excluded from productive employment.

A Collaborative Effort

In addition to the main partners, DRUPWB collaborates with affiliated entities such as Innooctava (LT), Zenica Development Agency ZEDA (BA), Ministry of Outsourcing (BA), thevisionworks - tvw GmbH (DE), NVO GLAS (ME), and ICTSlab (AL), each playing a crucial role in this collaborative effort.

What you can find on our online platform

In the section News, you can find the most recent updates from the project activities and work of our partner organisations.
Education section offers insights into our educational materials: research, educational curriculum, and content report from the training for educators. For now, only the research document is published and available. Other educational materials will be published in August 2024 (educational curriculum) and February 2025 (content report).
Online learning part of our platform will offer educational online learning courses, available both in formats of micro learning courses and longer educational courses. The courses will be based on the asynchronous approach to online learning – meaning that you can go through the course in your own pace and at your convenience.
Online learning will be launched by the end of 2024.
Partners section offers insights into work of partner organisations implementing the DRUPWB initiative.
